Youth Services Division has three specialized programs focused on family-based prevention and interventions:
- Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an intensive, short-term therapeutic model that offers in-home family counseling
- Parent and Adolescent Support (PASS) Intensive Case Management employs several evidence-based approaches to supporting families, including strength-based Intensive Case Management (ICM), Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and the Transition to Independence Process (TIP) in partnership with the Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), a case management system for older youth with emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Strengthening Teens Enriching Parents (PASS) Program works with youth up to 17 years old who are reported missing to the MPD. Case managers provide outreach to assess why the youth has left home and, together with the family, implement services with community partners and other District agencies to reduce the likelihood of future MPRs and increase family stability.
