Transitional Housing Corporation (THC) Honors DHS Director Clarence H. Carter

Tuesday, May 26, 2009
Washington, DC

At the annual Living in the City benefit, the Transitional Housing Corporation (THC) will honor DHS Clarence H. Carter for his leadership role to help end homelessness in the District of Columbia, particularly through Mayor Fenty’s Housing First permanent supportive housing program.

To date the District's Permanent Supportive Housing program has housed 427 individuals and 34 families. In 2009, the number of unsheltered people in the District decreased by nearly 15 percent, an unprecedented year-to-year reduction.

The event will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Washington Club, 12 Dupont Circle, NW 6pm-8pm.
