Family Re-Housing Stabilization Program

The Family Rehousing and Stabilization Program (FRSP) offers time-limited rental assistance, up to 12 months, and supportive case management to help families move from shelter to housing. The purpose of FRSP is to be a bridge between emergency shelter and long-term housing stability by helping families transition into private rental housing while receiving support to build income and stabilize.

Through the program, families receive:

  • First month’s rent and security deposit;
  • A basic furniture package and moving assistance; and
  • Rental assistance and case management during the time they are in the program (up to 12 months).

IMPORTANT NOTICE

TEMPORARY PAUSE TO NEW ENTRIES INTO FRSP – EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2025

* * *

Beginning June 1, 2025, DHS will implement a temporary pause on new entries into FRSP. This decision reflects our commitment to strengthening the program based on consistent feedback from our clients, advocates, providers, and community members. The temporary pause is a part of our effort to rightsize FRSP, positioning it for long-term sustainability to better meet the needs of families. We expect the pause to last through the end of Fiscal Year 2025.

Families who have already been approved and moved into housing through FRSP before June 1, 2025, will remain supported and are not impacted by the temporary pause.

DHS will continue to assess families in Short Term Family Housing (STFH) and connect eligible families to available services and resources. STFH families are encouraged to contact their case manager for additional guidance.

FRSP families may contact their case manager with specific questions.
