Beginning September 23, 2026, the DC Department of Human Services will shift some of its services to better support customers. 

The Congress Heights Service Center DCWET Office of Work Opportunity (OWO) and Childcare Services (CCSD) are moving to Anacostia Service Center. 

Starting Wednesday, September 23, through Friday, September 25, 2026: 

• Taylor Street Service Center: Customers can still receive Childcare services (dropoff information/scheduled appointments only) and OWO services. 

• Anacostia Service Center: Customers can receive OWO services only at Anacostia Service Center. 

• Online Services: Apply for Childcare services online at https://dhs.dc.gov/service/child-care-services. Complete your TANF Assessment at cap.dhs.dc.gov. 

Starting Monday, September 28, 2026: 

• Anacostia and Taylor Street Service Centers: Customers can receive childcare services (dropoff information/scheduled appointments) and OWO services at Anacostia and Taylor Street Service Centers. 

• Online Services: Apply for Childcare services online at https://dhs.dc.gov/service/child-care-services. Complete your TANF Assessment at cap.dhs.dc.gov.

Why This Change Is Happening?
DHS is improving how service teams are organized to make operations more efficient and enhance customer service. Moving teams into one location will allow staff to work closely together, respond more quickly, and better serve District residents. 

What This Means for You
