DHS OPERATIONAL STATUS

DC Government will open at 10:00 a.m. Click here for Mayor Bowser’s announcement on the District’s current operational posture. 

 

DHS Headquarters 

  • Will open at 10:00 a.m. 

Family Services Administration 

  • Virginia Williams Family Resource Center, the central intake office for families seeking assistance with housing needs, will open at 10:00 a.m. for walk-in services. Households are encouraged to call 202-526-0017 to connect with a VWFRC team member and complete an assessment for homeless services. 

  • Low-barrier and hypothermia shelters for individuals experiencing homelessness will operate around the clock. 

  • The Sanctuary, a low-barrier shelter for transition age youth (age 18-24), located 511 Mellon Street NE, will be open around the clock.

  • Downtown Day Services Center, located at 1313 New York Avenue NW, will be open normal hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

  • Zoe’s Doors Youth Drop-In Center, located at 900 Rhode Island Avenue NE, will be open around the clock. 

  • Sasha Bruce Youth Drop-In Center, located at 741 8th Street SE, will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  

  • Latin American Youth Center Drop-In Center, located at 3045 15th Street NW, will follow federal government open/closed posture.
