RESIDENTS SERVED AT THE ASTON
The Aston’s non-congregate bridge housing model serves three main populations:
HOW RESIDENTS ACCESS THE ASTON THROUGH COORDINATED ENTRY
Individuals and families are connected to The Aston through the District’s Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement (CAHP) process, which ensures standardized access and referrals based on program criteria so that people experiencing homelessness receive appropriate assistance with both immediate and long-term housing and service needs.
THE ASTON SERVICE PROVIDER
The Aston is operated by our partner Friendship Place, which offers program participants 24/7 case management, access to mental and physical health services, and connections to other critical resources.
COMMUNITY FEEDBACK OR CONCERNS
Neighbors and other District residents can submit feedback and/or non-emergency concerns regarding The Aston to Friendship Place at [email protected].
VOLUNTEERING AND DONATIONS
Friendship Place offers various ways for you to support our community through advocacy, donations, or volunteering. Act today to help make homelessness brief and non-recurring!
THE ASTON COMMUNITY ADVISORY TEAM (CAT)
Drawing upon the District’s very successful Short Term Family Housing program, The Aston has a dedicated Community Advisory Team (CAT) made up of residents, experts, and key District agency representatives. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring The Aston's success through open communication, transparency, and collaboration. The CAT provides valuable feedback on issues such as resident quality of life, maintenance of the property, and the construction process. The CAT also provides a place for the community to have a voice and stay informed about what's happening.
Current CAT Membership (updated 10/29/2024)
For questions or issues related to the Community Advisory Team, please email CAT co-chairs Jim Malec ([email protected]) and Sakina Thompson ([email protected]).
