Arrest Made in an Assault with Intent to Kill While Armed (Knife) Offense: 1600 Block of Benning Road, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill while Armed (Knife) offense that occurred on Saturday, September 7, 2019, in the 1600 block of Benning Road, Northeast.

 

At approximately 9:18 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and EMS were summoned to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.  The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

 

On Saturday, September 7, 2019, 38 year-old Jeffery Birth, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill while Armed (Knife).
