Temporary Shelter

The City of Washington, DC temporary shelter also known as short-term shelters are often open 24 hours a day. Temporary shelter programs offer various onsite services for both families and individuals. Most shelters not only provide a warm and safe place to sleep, but also offer on-site assessment and case management. Their goal is to help individuals immediately start working on making the transition from homelessness to more stable, long-term housing. The Virginia Williams Family Resource Center offers Family temporary emergency shelter.
