The Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) is authorized by the Social Security Act, Title XX, as amended, to enable a jurisdiction to furnish social services best suited to the needs of its residents. The goals for the use of federal block grant funds are to prevent, reduce, or eliminate dependency; to achieve or maintain self-sufficiency; to prevent neglect, abuse, or exploitation of children and adults; to prevent or reduce inappropriate institutional care; and to secure admission or referral for institutional care when other forms of care are not appropriate.
The public inspection and comment period will continue through October 25, 2019.
