The District Introduces Subsidized Non-driver’s Identification Cards for the Homeless

Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Washington, DC

The District launched an initiative that permits the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to provide non-driver’s identification cards, at no cost, to residents of the District who are homeless. This program subsidizes the cost of identification cards to facilitate easier access for homeless residents to services and benefits that require identification.
